Itineraries

Day 1

VENICE:

Arrival in Venice, meet your guide and visit the city: Known for over a thousand years as La Serenissima, Venice is famous for its elaborate labyrinth of islands and canals navigated by black gondolas and spanned by hundreds of bridges. The visit begins with St Mark's Square, an architectural synthesis of different styles from the 11th to the 17th century; the Doge's Palace, seat of the City Government and residence of the Doge; the Clock Tower; the Campaline, built on an ancient watchtower; the Bridge of Sighs leading to the ancient prisons. Free lunch, free time, transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF SHAKESPEARE IN VERONA

Breakfast at the hotel, and departure for Verona, meeting with the guide and tour of the city following the stages of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet": Romeo's House: one of the most evocative medieval houses in Verona, The Tower of Reason, a 12th century building, here the sentence of exile could have been decreed for Romeo after the killing of Tybalt. Continue on to Juliet's House: Tradition indicates it as the home of Shakespeare's heroine, as there is a strong probability that it belonged to the Ceppelletti, or Capulets; in the courtyard there is a bronze statue representing her and the famous balcony. Corso Cavour, the site of the fatal duel, the Portoni della Bra, the protagonists of Romeo's escape, and finally Juliet's Tomb located inside the Convent of San Francesco in Corso, where the secret wedding was also celebrated. The guided tour ends with an explanation of the exterior of the famous Arena of Verona: one of the great buildings that characterised Roman architecture and one of the ancient amphitheatres that has come down to us with the best degree of preservation. Free lunch, free afternoon, transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3

LAKE OF GARDA

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a visit to Lake Garda. Arrival in Sirmione, meeting with the guide and the Rocca Scaligera, built by the Scaligeri starting in 1277. During the guided tour you will be able to admire the military building techniques, and the suggestive dock: one of the rare examples of a fortified port from the end of the 14th century. At the end of the tour we continue to the Grotte di Catullo: these represent the remains of a Roman villa built between the end of the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD. At the end board the ferry to reach Desenzano del Garda. Free lunch, free afternoon to visit the village or do activities.

Excursions in Nature:

Guided trekking route from Campione to Pieve di Tremosine: 3 hours / Itineraries along paths or tracks, generally marked, even long, with some exposed but well-protected sections. These routes require a minimum of experience and training.

EMTB tours in the Euganean Hills Natural Park: a unique place with endless opportunities for leisure and sport. A mountain bike tour that combines the pleasure of pedalling on the Euganean Hills tracks with the panoramic views, villas and medieval villages of this area.

Treasure Hunting in the Venetian Lagoon:
An experience where fun is guaranteed! The tour offers the possibility of having fun following a map that will be given to you on board where you will have to follow the various clues scattered along the way to reach the treasure island. It is an experience of discovering the islands of the Venetian lagoon united by a funny story. The excursion will last 2-3 hours.

Kayak Tour on the Canals of Venice: Following an experienced kayak guide, paddle through the canals that are known as the arteries of Venice. Listen to the history and culture of the Italian city through the guides' commentary, gaining a unique perspective from the water. Participants of all levels are welcome, no kayaking experience is necessary. Instructions and use of all equipment are included.

Historical routes :

Bassano del Grappa and the Great War: Bassano del Grappa was a very important outpost in the final phase of the First World War. Between 1917 and 1918 on Monte Grappa the Italian troops faced and defeated the Austro-Hungarian troops. There are numerous testimonies of that dramatic period. Scattered around Mount Grappa are trenches, fortifications and tunnels that evoke the Great War and the sweat, despair and courage of its protagonists: the soldiers employed at the front.

Goethe in Vicenza: On 3 September 1786 Goethe leaves Karlsbad for Italy In Vicenza he stops over from 19 to 26 September; guided tour of the city of Vicenza : Piazza dei Signori, where the Palladian Basilica stands. The diaries give us the beautiful image of the poet taking refreshment with a bunch of grapes under its porticoes, the Loggia del Capitaniato and Corso Palladio and Palladio's House, which inspired Goethe with lofty considerations and the desire to see it included in a painting by Canaletto, continuation to the Teatro Olimpico, which Goethe describes in heartfelt tones: "a theatre on the ancient model, but in small proportions and unspeakably beautiful...". Here Goethe, mixed in with the audience, amusedly attends a round of the illustrious Accademia Olimpica.

Activities :

Glass workshop in Murano:

Visit to a Murano glass workshop where you can learn the techniques of Murrina and the art of mosaic, create an artefact with your own hands and take it with you as a souvenir of the experience.
