Itineraries
Day 1
PANORAMIC CITY TOUR: CLASSICAL TOUR
Arrival in Florence, meeting with the guide and city tour: The tour begins with a visit to the religious centre, which includes the Cathedral, with Brunelleschi's imposing dome, the Baptistery, famous for its Gate of Paradise, and Giotto's Bell Tower. We continue to Piazza della Repubblica, the centre of ancient Roman 'Florentia'. You will then pass the 'piggy market' and the Ponte Vecchio, which with its goldsmiths' workshops is the oldest in the city. Finally we reach the political centre of Florence, Piazza della Signoria, a splendid open-air sculpture museum dominated by the Palazzo Vecchio. Free lunch, transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
FLORENCE AND THE RENAISSANCE: UFFIZI MUSEUM
Breakfast at the hotel, meeting with the guide for an itinerary that includes: The Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important art galleries in the world. It contains the most famous works of Florentine and Tuscan art from the 12th and 14th centuries, the great masters of the Renaissance (Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo) as well as important sections devoted to Flemish, French, Dutch and German painters. Free lunch. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3
FLORENCE AND MICHELANGELO
Breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and visit the Bargello National Museum, where you can admire some of Michelangelo's sculptures, such as the Bacchus, the Tondo Pitti, the David Apollo, and Donatello's famous David. Continue with a visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce, where Michelangelo's tomb is located, and finally reach Piazza della Signoria, where you can see a marble copy of the David. Lunch in Linero, return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Excursions in Nature :
Trekking in the WWF nature reserve of Orbetello : This is a brackish coastal lagoon dotted with small sand islands and fed by fresh water from the surrounding canals. Distinguished by a great botanical variety and the enchanting butterfly garden, the oasis with its 200 bird species is a favourite destination for birdwatchers.
Hiking on the Island of Elba: Elba is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and is famous for its scenic beauty, with white sandy beaches, sheer cliffs and small picturesque villages. Hiking on the island of Elba and in the Tuscan Archipelago means retracing the millennial history of its inhabitants, from prehistoric caves to recent seaside villages.
Historical routes:
Birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci : Immersed in the centuries-old olive trees of Montalbano, in a landscape almost unchanged by time, the house where Leonardo was born on 15 April 1452 is the place to discover the most intimate and private aspects of Leonardo's story
Siena : visit the city with the Palazzo Pubblico, the Loggia della Mercanzia, the Palazzo del Magnifico, the Chapel of San Giovanni Battista the Duomo and the famous Piazza del Campo, the centre of the city and the place where the famous Palio di Siena is held every year.
Pisa : Once you have appreciated the Tower of Pisa from every angle, the visit continues to the other monuments in the square: the Cathedral and the Baptistery. Along the perimeter of the square you will also find the Camposanto, the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the Museo delle Sinopie.
Toscana Wine Architecture: a circuit of 14 wineries of excellence and design, signed by the great masters of contemporary architecture. Real temples of wine designed by names such as Mario Botta, Renzo Piano and Tobia Scarpa. Beautiful buildings, perfectly integrated with the surrounding landscape, associated with cutting-edge technologies in construction and production.
